January 13th, 2009 Bible Blog

Today's Reading:

Psalms 90-92
Romans 11:1-21

My Response:

Today we begin with a Psalm from Moses which could be one of the first Psalms ever recorded. Here we see the eternity of God and the shortness of human life in comparison. Moses had seen the Revelation of how God had created the world and was able to relate that to all of mankind. God is so much greater than we are yet mankind has always like to think just how much we are in control. Of course this is a false reality as we see that Moses understood.

Psalms 91 is a prayer of trust in God and is another beloved Psalms. I am encouraged by this awesome Psalms. I have always particularly loved this verse:

Psalms 91:7
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

This to me is a promise from God. We are at war, but this war will not destroy us. Thousands of others will fall, but those who have trusted in the redemptive power of Christ and God will never fall as the rest do. While we will fall in the worldly sense of death, our spirit's will live on for eternity with God!

My Prayer:

Lord, thank You for such an awesome morning of prayer while I was driving. Lord I thank You that You spoke to me and that You revealed Yourself to me. I praise Your mighty name and worship You. Thank You that You care so much for me that You want to share Your heart with me. I love You Lord and I lay my life down at Your feet.

God You made promises to me, promises that I know You will keep. You are an amazing God that is so true and so just. I praise Your name and I thank You that You hear my prayers and that You answer them. I can do nothing without Your assistance Lord.

I pray God that You would bless our sleep tonight and that You would continue to provide for Sun Glow. Thank You Lord that You have brough us work at Sun Glow and thank You for watching over this business. I will glorify Your name for all of the good things that You bring upon us Lord. You are so faithful and so fair. I love You and I am blown away by Your devotion to me. Praise Your mighty name oh Lord.
