Okay,
Well here it is, I have had so little time to actually blog on my reading that I am feeling guilty about not posting everyday so I am changing all things around a bit. This will officially be our College Age site that allows people to see what is happening and what we are doing. I will also continue to post recaps of the things that we are teaching on, but since I was the only one posting anything here it doesn't seem worthwhile to feel guilty about keeping the daily blogging up. I will from time to time post the things that really call out to me as I continue to do my daily reading. In 254 days I have only missed one day of reading which I caught up on the next day. I am committed to my reading through the Bible in one year and have been excited by what God is teaching me.
I hope that you all understand the reasons behind this.
So with that, the new College Age blog emerges. This will strictly be a blog where we discuss the things that we are doing and what is going on/coming up. God bless you all and thank you to those that still check in here.

This Weeks College Age Recap
Hey Everyone!
Well it was great being back in the Golobay house for College Age and it is crazy to think about this but it was our first time meeting back here since the new year. True we were here last week for Super Bowl, but that is different than what we had tonight!
Tonight was great! There were some new faces, some old familiar ones, and then the ever faithful ones, which made for a great time. Tonight we spoke on Trusting In God and you can find the notes from this evening's teachings by going here:
Trusting In God
There was a great time of discussion that followed and it was great to hear everyone's input on why there is suffering of Christians and good people despite their trusting in God. It was great to see you all engaging and I really enjoyed hearing what you all had to share on the matter.
Aside from that we prayed for many of you that were struggling with trusting God and I am certain that if we all trust in God as we should then amazing things are going to happen. Remember that we are supposed to trust in Him no matter what we are facing. Our God is good and He is faithful to us at all times.
In all it was a great first week back and I am thankful to have been back home! God bless you all this week. Remember that Dawn and I are both here for you and we love you dearly. Please do not hesitate to call us or email us! Peace out!

February 8th, 2009 Bible Blog
Today's Reading:
Proverbs 9-10
1 Corinthians 15:1-32
My Response:
Wow, I can't believe how long it has been since I have been able to blog on my reading. The reading has been great and God is continuing to challenge me, and tonight I felt convicted for not giving God more of my time. I have allowed the busy schedule of my life to interfere with my blogging and I was justifying it while saying that I was still reading my Word. That is true, I have continued to read my Word daily, but that quite simply is not enough. To read God's Word is well and good, but to record the things that God speaks to us through it is extremely important to our lives in Christ. I am going to get back on track with my recording of what God is sharing with me.
Proverbs, one can never go wrong by reading Proverbs. In this book is all the wisdom of time that God has given us. Wisdom is calling out, will we answer it? I know that in all things I am weak and that I must rely on God if I am to be successful in any way. So what is wisdom? Scripture tells us many things of what wisdom can be but in our reading today it tells us what the beginning of wisdom is:
Proverbs 9:10
10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. To me this means that I know that my life is not my own and so out of reverence for my maker I lay my life down. We can see those that fear God simply by looking at our actions. Those that fear God have taken the first step towards gaining true wisdom. This may not necessarily be the same wisdom that the world thinks is wisdom, but it is far greater wisdom, it is the wisdom that the Lord gives us. In this Scripture we also see that the beginning of understanding is knowing the Holy One.
Another verse in our reading today that has always spoken to me is this:
Proverbs 10:19
19 When words are many, sin is not absent,
but he who holds his tongue is wise.
How true this is! The more that we talk the more that we seem to say the things that we ought not. The more we speak the more corruption we witness. Sometimes in life we need to learn to be silent rather than "fill the void" that we sense when there is silence.
My Prayer:
Lord please forgive me of my sins and release me of my past. Lord please forgive me for not giving more of my time to You. Lord I am weak but in You I am made strong. Teach me and guide me Lord in the ways of wisdom. Open my eyes so that I can see You clearly. I love You Lord and I lay my life down at Your feet.
I pray Lord that You would open up the storehouses and bless Sun Glow. Lord we need You to provide for us. I pray Lord that You would release the funds and bring an abundance in this hard time. Lord in all ways I will glorify Your name, including in the business world. You are our provider and it is only because of Your blessing that we are who we are. Praise be to Your name alone for all that You have done and are doing.
Please bless our sleep and our week. I love You Lord and I lay my life down at Your feet.

February 3rd, 2009 Bible Blog
Today's Reading:
Psalms 148-150
1 Corinthians 11:16-34
On A Side Note:
Okay, it might appear to some that I have been slacking off on my reading and studying, but I must say I have kept this up despite my crazy recent schedule. It has been hard to find the time to blog everyday the way that I used to but I will get this all updated in the next couple of days with what God has spoken to me on. There are plenty of highlighted portions of my reading that I am just waiting to respond on, but I need the time to get caught up. If anyone reads this please pray that I would get a break on my work schedule so that I can get caught up! Love you guys/gals, peace out.
